Jun Senoue - the kick-ass sound behind Sonic's fast shoes and musical support of Sonic's adventures.

Jun Senoue was born in Matsushima, Miyagi Prefecture, Tohoku, Japan at August 2th in 1970. At the age of 3 he started playing the piano. Jun also tried to play keyboard and bass. Finally he got the instrument that would lay the foundation of remarkable sound behind SEGA's games (especially the Sonic series) when he got his first electric guitar at the age of 15. His musical variety may lay in the fact that he joined and formed several bands in Japan as early as in his youth.

After graduating from Aoyama-Gakuin University in 1993, Jun joined SEGA as a music composer.

As the sound director and main composer of the videogame Sonic Adventure he wrote songs together with singers like Eric Martin (Mister Big) , Tony Harnell (TNT, Westworld), Ted Poley (Danger Danger, Melodica), Paul Shortino (Rough Cutt) and of course Johnny Gioeli (Hardline, Axel Rudi Pell).

Being impressed by the debut album of Hardline released in 1992 Jun wanted to team up with a singer like Johnny. Then he get the chance to contact Johnny Gioeli through Doug Aldrich (Guitarist of Whitesnake). Together Jun and Johnny tracked their first song "Open Your Heart" in Los Angeles. The song became the main theme of Sonic Adventure game.

In 2000 Jun and Johnny released their first album "Thrill of the Feel" under the name "Sons of Angels" that was later renamed as "Crush 40".

Since he has joined SEGA he has composed and arranged a great amount of songs for games like Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Shadow The Hedgehog, Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic & the secret Rings and Sonic & The Black Knight.

Among these are memorable tracks such as "Open Your Heart" (Sonic Adventure Main Theme), "It Doesn't Matter" (Sonic Adventure - Sonic's Theme Song), "Believe In Myself" (Sonic Adventure - Tails' Theme Song), "Live And Learn" (Sonic Adventure 2 Theme song), "Escape From The City" (Sonic Adventure 2 - Stage Song), "Sonic Heroes" (Sonic Heroes Theme Song), "What I'm Made Of" (Sonic Heroes - Theme Song), "Knight Of The Wind" (Sonic & The Black Knight Theme Song). However his milestones would probably be "Open Your Heart" and "Live And Learn" that are the most familiar songs to Sonic fans.

Apart from his many projects for the music of the Sonic series Jun wrote awesome rocking songs like "Revvin' Up", "Into The Wind" or "Watch Me Fly", which enchant his fans again and again once more - not only because of his unique style and the way he constitutes even 'simple' riffs to something special but also because of his variety in the different songs and the remarkable melodies he creates.

As a guitar player Jun Senoue has got his very own and special sound that has fascinated people all over the world.
